After experiencing wheel hop on the drag strip on both Drag Radials and Hoosier Slicks, resulting in blown driver and passenger rear axles...and FWD Clutch Basket failure...we began looking at coilover solutions to cushion the launch and improve traction for the high HP setups.
To shed weight, we designed Lightweight T7075 CNC Billet Lower/Upper Mounts and Shock Bodies. Only 43 lbs for the entire set, a savings of 22.8 lbs (35%) over the factory suspension. We believe this to be one of the lightest, if not THE lightest, coilover suspension on the market.
Ride quality is greatly improved over the factory suspension, and our shop car has transformed into a much more compliant ride with the 672 lb/in (Front) and 448 lb/in (Rear) Spring Rates. While street manners have greatly improved, the soft spring rates are the perfect fit for weekend duty at the drag strip. We do look forward to seeing stellar 60 fts from these this upcoming race season.
24-way Dampening. Mono-tube Shock Design. As you can see from the shock dyno testing, we are able to increase rebound significantly while only marginally increasing compression. Simply put, we are able to increase handling without sacrificing comfort. (Our primary goal for the Pro Street Series.)
