You may be saying "I can buy a liftime of OEM filters for the cost of the Purepower", here is a list of advantages that OE filters cannot offer:

-With the higher flow rate of the filter media this filter will not bypass oil that is unfiltered like a traditional paper filter, result: a cleaner oil with less debris being pumped through the engine.

-Can be checked for debris as often as you like with out having to buy a new filter and the mess of cutting open traditional filters.

-Extends the oil life if you are willing to clean the filter more often than standard oil change intervals.

-Environmental: Once the filter has drained there should be no more than 2 tablespoons of oil clinging to the filter.  In California that is little enough that the waste can be dumped along with the water used to clean the filter.  We do recommend that you check with your state guidelines to ensure what your local laws are and abide by them.
