Tension Rods connect the front control arm to the Tension Rod Bracket on the frame. Their purpose is to prevent the control arm from moving too far forward or back (especially during heavy braking or suspension travel), thus maintaining proper caster. When the braking system is upgraded, the forces applied to the tension rods are magnified significantly.
Under heavy cornering or severe braking with upgraded brakes, the suspension geometry can change entirely due to flexing tension rods. In the worst of cases, the tension rods can be damaged or even break entirely. These rods are far stronger than the original rods, which when combined with the pillow ball mount, significantly reduce or completely remove the flexing that leads to geometry change in cornering and hard braking. Initial turn-in response also tends to improve with these rods. Some caster adjustment can be achieved with these rods. Sold in matched pairs.
Kameari Product Note:
All Kameari products were originally Special Order items with a 6-8 week timeframe to arrive from Japan (they were incorrectly listed online as taking 3-4 weeks). We were recently able to work out a better deal with them that allowed us to lower our price on all of their products while speeding up the shipping time to us. All Kameari products are still sourced from the manufacturer in Japan.
