When installing a new turbo system to your GTR, you will need a more effective method to control higher boost levels than stock. Allowing for much higher resolution than the factory solenoid, this kit will allow boost to be controlled to a much finer degree.
We designed this BCS kit to be as robust and high quality as possible while still being simple to plumb and install.
Allowing for a wider range of peak boost control, the 4 port boost control solenoid is the preferred kit for “max effort” tuned GTRs using the stock ECU. Unlike the 3 port solenoid that only adds pressure to the top port of the wastegate and leaves the bottom port connected to a boost pressure source, the 4 port solenoid will reduce pressure at the bottom port while simultaneously adding pressure to the top port, effectively increasing your spring pressure and maximum boost level possible even with high exhaust manifold back pressures. With the added effective spring pressure a 4 port solenoid delivers, it will allow for a much lower pressure spring to be used inside the wastegate, achieving a lower minimum boost level without sacrificing higher boost level control.
*NOTE* While the 4 port BCS does allow for a wider range of boost levels to be controlled with 1 solenoid, there is a substantial loss in control during normal driving conditions. For this reason, we only suggest the 4 port BCS to be used on dedicated racing applications, and not on vehicles where daily drivability is a concern.
